Mary Ingoldby

Mary was a central plank of our Research project on the Bristol Bus Boycott, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Mary led the oral history activity and workshops, bringing much valued knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for people’s history and testimony.

Mary passed away in 2019 and an obituary can be found here

“Mary Ingoldby in 1976. She was fascinated by the people she interviewed for her oral histories – old soldiers, laundry workers and eccentric types from the outposts of the British Empire.”

We are all honoured to have worked with Mary and were happily infected by her enthusiasm, spirit of play and creativity.
